Lead One ECG

Lead One ECG for Android

The same app as the web version, with recording that continues while the screen is off. Free and open source. It has no internet permission: your recordings never leave your phone.

Download the latest version

Latest version: 1.8.2. The download is the file LeadOne-ECG-1.8.2.apk on the release page, which also lists its SHA-256 checksum.

Install it

  1. Download the .apk file from the release page.
  2. Open it. Android asks you to allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps: allow it for this one install.
  3. Open Lead One ECG, allow Nearby devices (Bluetooth) and Notifications (shown while recording), and connect your Polar H10.

Updates install over the old version and keep your recordings. Prefer not to install anything? Use the web app in Chrome or Chromium.

Check that it's the official build

This is the official download. Copies elsewhere are allowed by the licence, so check any APK before installing it:

Keep it up to date

Install from a computer

With USB debugging turned on in the phone's Developer options: adb install LeadOne-ECG-1.8.2.apk. A one-click installer that runs in Chrome on your computer is on the way.

Why isn't it on Google Play?

Our apps are free, open source and collect nothing. Publishing on Google Play means registering with Google, handing over government ID and paying a fee. Google is now extending that identity check beyond its own store: since 30 September 2026, apps from participating app stores in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand must come from developers verified by Google, and Google plans to require this for all apps on certified Android phones worldwide from 2027.

We believe you should be able to install software you choose on a phone you own, without asking Google's permission, so we support Keep Android Open and distribute directly instead. If your phone one day refuses an app from an unverified developer, Android's advanced flow (in Developer options; a one-time 24-hour wait) or an install from a computer still works.
